Technical description

• Type: Coolant temperature sensor, used to monitor Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT).

• Thread: M12 × 1.5 mm (common mounting format in the cooling system's metal conduit). 

• Connector: 3-pin triangular

• Material: Metal body (brass) with a seal (gasket or O-ring).

• Function: Sends an electrical signal proportional to the coolant temperature, which is read by the ECU and dashboard; activates fans, regulates fuel mixture, and controls other parameters. 

Compatible models

The sensor is used in numerous Subaru models from 2000 to 2006, especially in 2.5 L engines. Compatible vehicles include:

• Subaru Legacy (2000–2004)

• Subaru Outback (2000–2004)

• Subaru Baja (2003–2006)

• Subaru Impreza (NA and Turbo models in similar periods)

• Subaru Forester (up to mid-2000s models)
